Remaking the Motherland explores the network of people with whom I intentionally choose to populate my life. This project bears the individualized ranges of movement of 102 friends, family, and acquaintances chosen by the importance I felt each held in my social network. Some had significantly impacted my path in life, while others had less impacting but more functional roles. Still others are those whom I don’t know very well at all, but who are impossible to separate from my daily routine. Territories are pieced together by connecting road and riverways present within respective maps.
